Following a fire at the end of last harvest, a replacement continuous mixed flow drier was ordered.

1. Initially we had to strip the building of the old roof and vertical sheeting damaged in the fire.

Scaffolding was erected to provide hand railing and the incoming electricity supply had to be sleeved prior to the work starting.

The roof was stripped and the asbestos based material loaded into skips for removal off site via a licensed waste disposal contractor.  New roof and vertical sheeting was then installed.

2. Once the building was made safe the old drier could be removed and scrapped making way for a new SVR3/3.

Hand railing was installed on top of the drier providing safe working access.

The new control panel was installed adjacent to the incoming electricity supply.

3. As well as a new drier we installed 2 new discharge conveyors.

A speed control device was installed on the new bottom conveyor to prevent overloading of the existing top conveyor.

4. While on site we relocated the dust box to the outside of the building.

The new dust box can now be unloaded using a telehandler which makes for an easier life all round.  It also creates more storage space within the grain store.
