Lord Rayleigh's Farms Ltd - Terling, Hatfield Peverel.

The nature of work to be carried out is to strip and resheet the roof of a potato grading store, move the chimney outlet from the roof to the front of the building and replace the external stormflow gutter.

Currently the store has a single layer tin roof with a thin polystyrene insulation and an asbestos based product gutter.  This is to be replaced with a composite roof sheet and black PVC external gutter.

The current single tin roof sheets are longer in length than the composite panel so additional timber purlin's have needed to be installed.

Once completed the new composite panels mean that there will be greater insulation and a prevention of condensation.

Before work could commence Health and Safety Regulations required that the building be scaffold and netted throughout.

Only certain areas of the building were required to be sealed off at a time while work was carried out, allowing farm production to continue.

The project from start to completion is expected to take approximately 2 weeks so is due for completion early January 2009 to allow the building to be used for chitting potatoes.
