Tey Farm Systems were extremely proud to have been appointed Main Contractor to design, install and maintain a continuous flow dryer complete with wet intake building. The system was built around a Svegma 46tph dryer, fed and emptied using Skandia handling equipment.
The main criteria behind the design was that it needed to be simple to use and capable of keeping ahead of the customers current, and anticipated combine capacity.
As such, the use of a hopper bottom silo was replaced by a building with integral intake conveyor below. To avoid elevator pits and conveyor trenches the dryer shed was replaced with a floor level 1.5m below ground level.
An added complication for us was the lack of power available on site, as such we installed an acoustic generator fed off the same diesel tank that supplies the fuel to the dryer.
We are delighted to report that the dryer was ready in time for harvest and the customer has since dried more than 7000 tonnes of wheat for himself and is now embarking on a large contract to dry wheat for a merchant, all of which is help to pay off the original investment far sooner than ever anticipated.
